Bear Lake Raspberries are grown in an area known to have cold nights, which makes the berries even sweeter. Although some other companies claim to be “Bear Lake,” Chad’s Raspberry Kitchen is the only company with headquarters at Bear Lake that grows our own berries and uses them in our delightful Chad’s Bear Lake Raspberry Jam, raspberry salsa, and other raspberry products. Our raspberries are grown a mere stone’s throw from our kitchen and picked at the peak of perfection, giving our goodies a distinct freshness.
Chad’s Raspberry Kitchen is a family company that was founded in 2000 as a support for a young man named Chad. Born with a rare liver disease, Chad required an organ transplant in 1987, but the procedure led to an infection which caused him to lose his vision the following year. The company served as a support and occupation for Chad until he could gain independence, thanks to a seeing eye dog he obtained in 2006. In early 2013, Chad succumbed to complications associated with liver disease. We are honored to continue our family business in his name.
Chad’s family, our family, has managed operations since we opened our doors, with family members living at the farm, working in the kitchen, and managing the business as a whole. We share Chad’s story and our raspberry products with everyone. What began as a very tiny company producing Chad’s Bear Lake Raspberry Jam now offers raspberry salsa, raspberry vinaigrettes, raspberry barbecue sauces, and other types of jams. We maintain Chad’s name, etched in gold, at the forefront of every product that leaves our kitchen, just as he has left a prominent golden mark on each of our hearts.
